About Michael Todd:
Michael Todd is a lifelong resident of Eastern Jackson County. He has lived in Grain Valley his entire life and attended Grain Valley schools from kindergarten through High School Graduation. After High School Graduation he attended the University of Central Missouri where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in School Administration. He taught Special Education for 26 years in the Grain Valley and Blue Springs School Districts, retiring from the Blue Springs School District in 2025 to pursue election as the Missouri Representative for District 32. Michael currently resides in Grain Valley with his wife Tosha and his daughter Harper.
Michael knows the importance of local government and the impact it has on all of us. He spent 6 years (3 terms) as an Alderman for the City of Grain Valley and has served 14 years (7 terms) as Mayor of Grain Valley. During that time, tremendous growth has occurred in Grain Valley. He wants to take what he has learned during his time as an elected official in Grain Valley to Jefferson City to help all the residents of District 32 to improve their quality of life. “I feel that there is more the State of Missouri can be doing to help local municipalities,” Todd said. “If I have the opportunity to serve in the Missouri House of Representatives, I look forward to being a voice for Eastern Jackson County and the state as a whole.” Todd has emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between state and local governments, particularly regarding MODOT-controlled roadways. “All of our communities are impacted by these roads, and we need to work together to make them safer and easier to travel,” he said.
In addition to serving in public office and teaching for 26 years, Todd serves in the community by chairing the work of the Grain Valley Fair Board (Including the Grain Valley Fair and Grain Valley First Fridays) and is a Board Member of the Grain Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Grain Valley Historical Society.
