Issues:

Infrastructure- As a local elected official Michael knows the struggles our communities in Eastern Jackson County face with infrastructure.  Many of our main roads and bridges are under MODOT or county control. This can make it difficult to get improvements done.  He wants to work on cutting the red tape and securing funding to get these needed projects done.

Foster Care and Adoption- As a teacher for 26 years, Michael saw firsthand the struggles with the foster care system and the difficulties families have with adoption.  He wants to work to make sure foster care is working for our kids in Missouri. He also wants to make it possible for great families who are looking to complete adoptions to be able to do so without having to take out second mortgages on their homes.

2nd Amendment Rights- As an avid hunter who has made many memories in the Missouri outdoors with his dad, grandpa, uncles, and now daughter, it is important to him to make sure our 2nd Amendment Rights continue to be protected for generations of outdoorsmen to come.

Supporting Law Enforcement/First Responders- Over the last several years starting pay for police officers in Grain Valley has increased, while providing officers with updated equipment, facilities, and training. Michael will continue to be a staunch supporter of law enforcement and other first responders.

Supporting Teachers- As a retired teacher whose wife is currently a school counselor, Michael knows the importance of our teachers and educators and the need to support them in a career that has become more challenging where we see more and more great teachers leaving the field.

Jackson County Property Taxes- Michael has seen the impacts that tax assessments have had on residents and different taxing jurisdictions of Jackson County.  He wants to make sure that forward progress continues in regard to correcting the tax issues in Jackson County.

Protecting Citizens from Scammers- Michael has seen and heard far too many stories of scammers stealing thousands of dollars from some of our most vulnerable residents—money that can never be recovered. He is committed to strengthening law‑enforcement tools to better trace, investigate, and prosecute those responsible. He also supports working closely with telecom providers to block known scam numbers and stop these criminals before they reach potential victims.​

Home Affordability- Michael is committed to limiting large institutional investors from purchasing excessive numbers of single‑family homes—a practice that drives up housing prices, inflates rents, and pushes homeownership out of reach for local families. He has seen firsthand how major, often out‑of‑state investors buy hundreds of homes for rental portfolios, reducing availability for traditional homebuyers and making it harder for residents to build long‑term stability in their own communities.
